I wouldn't recommend doing much with it, such as building a basement apartment, new builds, etc. As long as you're building with a permit, you're good anyways (your drawings and solutions are reviewed for compliance). Building without a permit, well you deserve whatever you get. WebBuilding Code shall comply with Division 2 of this Supplementary Standard.
