Lithopone formula
WebGENERAL DESCRIPTION: Lithopone is a white pigment composed of a mixture of barium sulfate (28 - 30%) and zinc sulfide (68 - 70%) with trace amounts of zinc oxide. It is produced by precipitation through filtering, heating and quenching works. Lithopone has mostly been replaced by titanium dioxide which is more durable, but it is much cheaper. WebThe molecular formula identifies each type of element by its chemical symbol and identifies the number of atoms of each element found in one discrete molecule of the substance. This information is only displayed if the substance is well–defined, its identity is not claimed confidential and there is sufficient information available in ECHA’s databases for ECHA’s …

Lithopone is produced by coprecipitation of barium sulfate and zinc sulfide. Most commonly coprecipitation is effected by combining equimolar amounts of zinc sulfate and barium sulfide: BaS + ZnSO4→ ZnS · BaSO4 This route affords a product that is 29.4 wt % ZnS and 70.6 wt % BaSO4. WebLithopone is a mixed zinc sulfide-barium sulfate pigment available in two types; one containing 30 percent zinc sulfide and one containing 60 percent zinc sulfide. Coprecipitation is achieved by reacting an aqueous solution of zinc sulfate with barium sulfide. The barium sulfide solution is prepared by reducing barite ore (BaSO4) with carbon. cruz containers logistics inchttp://chemicalland21.com/industrialchem/inorganic/LITHOPONE.htm bulgarian school systemWebGENERAL DESCRIPTION: Lithopone is a white pigment composed of a mixture of barium sulfate (28 - 30%) and zinc sulfide (68 - 70%) with trace amounts of zinc oxide.
