Born infeld theory
WebEinstein-Born-Infeld-AdS theory with spherical, planar and hyperbolic horizon geometries. Exact analytical solutions for the metric function, electric and magnetic elds were … WebNov 16, 2024 · Born-Infeld (BI) electrodynamics is motivated by the infinite self-energy of the point charge in Maxwell electrodynamics. In BI electrodynamics, an upper bound is imposed on the electric field, thus limiting the self-energy of the point charge. This is a review paper in which we motivate the BI Lagrangian and from it derive the field equations.

WebAbstract. Born's quest for the elusive divergence problem-free quantum theory of electromagnetism led to the important discovery of the nonlinear Maxwell–Born–Infeld equations for the classical electromagnetic fields, the sources of which are classical point charges in motion. The law of motion for these point charges has however been ... WebIdea. What is known as Born-Infeld theory (Born-Infeld 34, often also attributed to Dirac 62 and abbreviated “DBI theory”) is a deformation of the theory of electromagnetism …

In BI electrodynamics, an upper bound is … WebOct 11, 2016 · The main di erence between the Born-Infeld and the Born theories is that while the latter does exhibit birefringence, the former model does not [9]. In string theory, Born-Infeld Lagrangian is relevant for the dynamics of open strings in a constant electromagnetic background [10]. In particular, it is related to the e ective action of D …
WebApr 14, 2024 · It is shown that the Born--Infeld nonlinear electrodynamics with a polynomial type nonlinearity accommodates finite-energy electric point charges but rejects finite-energy magnetic point charges, or monopoles, thereby spelling out an electromagnetic asymmetry. Moreover, it is demonstrated, in a systematic way, that the curvature singularities of finite …
In theoretical physics, the Born–Infeld model is a particular example of what is usually known as a nonlinear electrodynamics. It was historically introduced in the 1930s to remove the divergence of the electron's self-energy in classical electrodynamics by introducing an upper bound of the electric … See more Born–Infeld electrodynamics is named after physicists Max Born and Leopold Infeld, who first proposed it. The model possesses a whole series of physically interesting properties. In analogy to a See more We will use the relativistic notation here, as this theory is fully relativistic.
